Vulcano is the most southern of the seven isles. It is a still active volcano. The picture shows the beach of Sabbie Nere (black sand), on the western side of the isle.

The narrow channel which separates Vulcano and Lipari. It's the sunset, and the sun seems to sink between the so-called "faraglioni".

It looks like snow even in august. Actually, it is a huge pumice-stone mountain. The pumice-stone is a very light stone, the only which does not sink in the water!

One more astonishing picture of the white pumice-stone mountain of Acquacalda. An excursion up there gives the tourist unique sensations, both from the visive pont of view and from the acustic one: as a matter of fact, being the pumice-stone sound-absorbing, it makes every sound soft and surreal.

It is early in the morning: the sun rises at east, making reddish the atmosphere over Stromboli and Panarea.

It is the sunset: the sun fades away at west between Alicudi and Filicudi.

Filicudi is one of the quietest corners of the whole Mediterranean sea due to the absence of roads and... cars, of cours!

Calajunco bay in Panarea, one of the most exclusive places of the Eolian Islands, where everyone has the chance to meet a "vip" of the world of sport, fashion, politics.

Just a few yards off the north-west coast of Panarea Basiluzzo, Lisca Bianca (in the picture) and other small isles create a perfect environment where to go snorkelling.

At the extreme west side of the seven islands, Alicudi is the place where the time seems to go very, very, very slowly.

Off the coast of Stromboli, the isle of Strombolicchio; landing on it isn't very easy, but it is worthwhile: the beautiful sight from the top is something that can't be forgotten.
